MINUTES FOR APRIL 10, 2007

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes from March 13, 2007 were amended to
note that Patti Estheimer was absent, and then
approved.
REPORT
Bill McCahan reported on the oil spill on March
23 on the property at 7300 Allentown Blvd.. Copies of the
Emergency Management Agency
reportwere distributed to EAC members.
PRESENTATIONS: BOARD
& COMMITTEE REPORTS
Board of Supervisors: Plans for Old Town Hanover will be submitted to the Board on April16, 2007.
Planning Commission: The plans for the Baptist Church’s condos has been tabled. Two changes to properties
on Mumma Road and Moyer Road were approved. There will be no workshop on the transportation
plan on April 11.
Parks and Rec: The grant request for the last phase of improvements to Fairville Park is nearly finished. Bids
for Skyline Commons will be opened April11.
Safety Advisory Board: no report
Township Manager: no report
Zoning Officer: The
Board will review three cases this week. There is a proposal for changes to
the Neighborhood-
Commercial classification. Grading has begun on a condo development on Sarhelm Road, which was approved
two years ago.
Updated county parcel information has been input into the GIS.

DEVELOPMENT REVIEWS
The committee reviewed plans:
Summit Family Restaurant East
Oak Grove Manor
Township Parks landscaping details for entrances: tabled
Landscape Ordinance Update: Sections 195-122 & 124
Tire Recycling Project – Plans were finalized for the April 26-29 event.
Recycling Can Project – Mr. Reimer wants quotes from three providers for new cans. The project is not ready for publicity.
Scenic West Hanover Awards – Patti is scanning the pictures and Carol has the frames. Presentation will be April 16.
Fairville Rain Garden – Jin Egenreider’s suggestions were reviewed. Rebecca Wertheim’s idea is to replace the mulch
every three years and add mulch now only to bare spots, to avoid smothering new seedlings. The blueberries may need to
be replaced and the blue stems may need to be moved. Seminars that were planned last year had poor attendance. A Rain
Garden Butterfly Watch will be held July 21, 10:00 – 11:00. The EAC will participate in the Fall Festival. Patti is going to
do a revised layout for the sign and it may be displayed on a temporary basis, until the work on the parking lot is finished.
Weeding and maintenance will be done without a schedule.
Cardboard Recycling – The correct size for folded cardboard is the size of a pizza box, since WM’s new trucks cannot
accommodate larger sizes.
Recycling Plant Tour – EAC members will tour WM’s plant in York on May 18. Participants will meet at the Twp. Building
at 9:00 for car pooling.
Summer Newsletter Articles – Carol will revise an article on littering for the summer issue. Also, a n article on
West Nile Virus will be included.
Oil Spill – The EAC discussed options for action relative to the oil spill on Allentown Blvd.
