WEST HANOVER TOWNSHIP PARK AND RECREATION BOARD

I.               CALL TO ORDER:

The regular meeting of the West Hanover Township Park and Recreation Board was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Chairman Stammel.

II.             PUBLIC COMMENTS

Public in attendance:  Carol Buskirk, Linda Turns, Steve Millard

 

Carol Buskirk reported on the Rain Garden.  Mr. Yingst dugout the Rain Garden with his backhoe.  The Township Roadcrew will be going and picking up soil.  April 29th 9:00 am is a working day.  They will be meeting at Fairville Park to plant Rain Garden.  Lunch will be provided by Subway.

 

III.        PRESENTATIONS/REPORTS

A.     A “Thank you” from the Baseball Assoc. for the use of the Downstairs Conference. Room.  April 20thUPS-Baseball is doing a project by painting (white) the inside of the Bathrooms and Concession stand, at no expense to the Township. Baseball opening day is set for April 22, 10:00 am, rain date is Sunday, April 23rd., 1:00 pm.

 

B   Ped Path- Mr. Geppert reported that they met twice, trying to get another member. The goal in 2006 is to complete the  Skyline View Trial.  We had some complaints, will check into these.  Some residents need access to the park.  Ped Path will present a plan to the Park & Rec Board to include access to the park.  An access from Rt. 39 to the park and west side of Sagewick is to be provided.

 

 

IV.        APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Jean Sites, seconded by  Bob Leonard, to approve the minutes of March 15, 2006.  The motion passed unanimously.  

 

 

V.          Treasurer Report-The Filo and Park Development funds were reviewed by the Park and Recreation Board.    List grants or money coming out.

 

VI.        TOWNSHIP STAFF REPORT

Ms. Fesig reported on:

Eagle Scout projects- We had some ups and downs with this project, the project is scheduled to be completed on Saturday April 29.

Bldg. Committee- the Board of Supervisors decided no to re-activate the building Committee at this time.

Park inspection- the park and Recreation Board received charts of each park, listing all the maintenance projects that need done according with our park inspection findings.

Rec Center Project- The ground has been level and grass seed planted. It looks great.

Movie program- Movies have been selected and program will go on as scheduled.

 

VII.       PLANS FOR REVIEW

              None

 

VIII.     OLD BUSINESS

The Park and Recreation Board reviewed the project status report.

Park Rule signs have been installed

Park and Recreation Coordinator is getting prices for shed at Recreation Center

Log Cabin- Park and Recreation Coordinator met with contractors to discuss options for the log cabin, contractors confirmed that the log cabin should be torn down. The Park and recreation Board discussed different options. The park and Recreation Coordinator asked if she should continue to get the log cabin sprayed for bees.

A motion was made by Bob Leonard and seconded by Bob Stammel to continue to spray the log cabin this year yet. The motion passed unanimously.

A motion was made by Bob Stammel, a second by Bob Rogers, to contact Historical Society

-       Skyline walking trail project is still on hold until we get permit. HRG working on that.

 

 

IX.        NEW BUSINESS

Municipal Park Master Site Plan- the park and recreation board will come to May meeting with ideas.

CD Facility use agreement- the Park and Recreation Board will review and bring comments back to their May meeting.

The monthly meeting of the Park and Recreation Board was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.  Bob Leonard. Rogers made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Bob Rogers. The motion passed unanimously.
