III. PRESENTATIONS/REPORTS
A. Jared Peiffer from troop 241 – Jared presented to the Park
and Recreation Board a proposal to
reconstruct a section of the
nature trail at
The motion passed unanimously.
B. Baseball Association- Mr. Holt announced that baseball Association
work day is scheduled for April 1st with the rain date of April 8. Baseball
opening day will be April 22, 2006. Practices will start the 3rd
Monday of March. This year baseball had 233 children register. The Park and
Recreation Board recommended that the Township Manager, Park and Recreation
Coordinator, Jeff Holt and Michael Jacobs have a meeting to review the facility
agreement.
C. Ped Path- Mr. Geppert reported that
on February 9, 2006 a small group of 4 or 5 people had a
meeting to discuss the ped path projects.
This group will be working with and reporting to the Park and Recreation Board.
The group is proposing to finish Skyline View path, which is to install 3 or 4
more posts. Also they would like to connect the walking trail to Brynfield
development.
D. Festival- The Festival committee will be having their next meeting
on February 21, at 6:00 pm.
IV. APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
A motion
was made by Mr. Jacobs, seconded by Mr. Rogers, to approve the minutes of January
18, 2006. The motion passed
unanimously.
V. Treasurer Report-The Filo and Park Development funds were reviewed by the Park and Recreation Board.
VI. TOWNSHIP STAFF REPORT
Ms. Fesig reminded the Board
that the park inspection was set for March 11 at the January meeting, not
realizing that this was the first day of the PRPS Annual Conference in Seven
Spring, so she would not be available to attend, but the Board could still
perform the inspection without her. The Board voted unanimously to change the
date to March18.
Ms. Fesig informed the Park
and Recreation Board that the transmission went out in the Park and Recreation
truck. This is the fourth transmission in this truck; instead of the expense of
a new transmission we replaced it with a rebuild transmission at a cost of
$1750.
Dieter and the Road crew men
have been working up at
Ms. Fesig reported that she
is still waiting for Matt Pronio the Eagle Scout that wanted to build the
staircase in
Board of Supervisors
approved for the
Center, we are waiting on HRG
The mowing contract will be
on the February 21, Board of Supervisors agenda for approval to advertise.
Park and Recreation
Coordinator and her assistant will be attending the PRPS Conference March 11-15,
VII. PLANS
FOR REVIEW
T/A Operating Corporation
was discussed. They want to add 3 bays on
the back of the building. This is commercial so they are exempt from the Filo
fee.

The Park and Recreation Board reviewed the project
status report.
Mr. Roger reported on his meeting with the Historical
Society, the log cabin was never meant to be a static display. It was to be a Rec. rental, concession stand,
Rec. office, etc. (according to a newspaper clipping in the Historical files).The
feelings for upgrading the facility was about 70 – 30% (70 % for upgrading)
