WEST HANOVER TOWNSHIP PARK AND RECREATION BOARD

I.               CALL TO ORDER:

The regular meeting of the West Hanover Township Park and Recreation Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Stammel.

III.        PRESENTATIONS/REPORTS

                        A. Baseball-  Baseball season is winding down.  The Association is asking permission to park on

     the Teener outfield. A motion by Mr. Leonard and seconded by Ms.Young to allowed the         

     baseball association to park vehicles on the teener field. The motion passed unanimously.

 

The Park and Recreation Coordinator asked Mr. Holt about the baseball Association cutting township grass. (This is a no no) Mr. Holt stated that a coach did mow the grass at the midget field and Houck Manor.

 

Mr. Holt would like the Park & Recreation Board to consider re-construction of the Houck Manor midget field for their 2007 budget.

 

B.  Ped Path- No Report, Mr. Geppert was not present

 

C.  Fall Fest- The Park and Recreation Coordinator gave and update on the progress of planning the Fall Fest events.

 

D.  Eagle Scout-(Kenny Fultz) Mr. Fultz is with troop 241. Mr. Fultz presented the following project to the Park & Recreation Board: Painting inside & outside of Houck Manor Concession stand & restrooms, apply wood preservative on the wood wall, and trim the shrubbery around the concession stand. Mr. Fultz goal is to start on August 7 and be completed by September. Mr. Fultz will be contacting tractor supply, Home Depot and Lowes for possible donations. A motion was made by Mr. Leonard, seconded by Ms. Young to accept the Houck Manor project. The motion passed unanimously

 

 

 

IV.        APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Mrs. Young, seconded by Mr. Leonard, to approve the minutes of June 21, 2006.  The motion passed unanimously.  

 

 

V.          Treasurer Report-The Filo and Park Development funds were reviewed by the Park and Recreation Board.

 

VI.        TOWNSHIP STAFF REPORT

Ms. Fesig  furnished the Park and Recreation with updates on the following:

 

Skyline Grant- The Township was awarded $166,000 to construct Skyline Park Master site plan.

 

Vandalism- More graffiti on playgrounds at Skyline Park, Beer parties at Fairville Park, Firework damage in trashcan at Houck Memorial Park

 

Maintenance update- Dieter painted Skyline pavilion and storage shed. Assembled the new bleachers and delivered to appropriate parks.  

 

VII.       PLANS FOR REVIEW

              A.  F/SB Stephen & Susan Cover- dividing 1 lot into 2

A Motion to recommend to the BOS fee-in-lieu to be used for Fairville Park and ped path was made by Ms. Young, seconded by .Ms. Sites. The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

VIII.     OLD BUSINESS

A .The Park and Recreation Board reviewed the project status report. No concerns.

B. Log Cabin – The Park and Recreation Board discussed some design options for the new log cabin,

20 x 30 with interior light, move electric outside, concrete the floor, built closet, keep the chimney, shutters and exit door.  A motion was made by Mr. Leonard, second by Mr. Rogers to continue with the.  . Engineer and Design in 2006, construction as part of the 2006 Grant. The motion passed unanimously

The monthly meeting of the Park and Recreation Board was adjourned at 9:03 p.m. Mr. Roger, made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Leonard. The motion passed unanimously.
