4. APPROVAL OF MEETING NOTES - MINUTES
A. January
6, 2005 – Bob Garland moved, seconded by Mike Geppert to approve the minutes
with one correction. The name of the
gentleman who attended the January 6, 2005 meeting to discuss the unsafe
conditions at Maple Street and Douglas Road is Mr. Long, a resident of Maple
Street. Motion passed unanimously.
5. PRESENTATIONS, STAFF/BOARD REPORTS
A. Report on traffic
Signal Reconfiguration Rt. 22/39 - Tabled
B. The board reviewed a letter to PENNDOT from
Eric Stump of HRG regarding signalization of Route 22 and Clover Lane and Route
22 and Manor Drive. The project is
moving forward.
Mr. McCahan referred to a memo he provided to the
board of supervisors asking them to consider replacing the incandescent lights
at Route 22 and Jonestown Road to LED.
Mr. Garland moved, seconded by Mr. Gochenaur to recommend upgrade of the
lights to LED. Motion passed
unanimously.
Mr. McCahan also stated that he met with Mr. Stump
to discuss the new traffic signals on Allentown Blvd. and the Route 81 Exit 77
signals. He also discussed with Mr.
Stump the requirements for preemption (OPTICOM), emergency power and providing
alternative traffic patterns when I 81 shuts down.

7. OLD BUSINESS
A. KNOX Box – Public Implementation Program – Mr. Cassel
provided a brief report on the KNOX Box program. The program should be functional by the end
of the month. The county should then be
able to open all the KNOX boxes.
B. Recommendation – Hydrant Height Standard – Mr. Hetrick provided a complete a set of
hydrant standards for PSAB review and recommendation. Mr. Rimer moved, seconded by Mr. Garland, to
table and forward the report to Pa American Water Company and the Township
Engineer for review.
8. NEW BUSINESS
A.
Motion –
Recommend Street Name Adjustments of Berkley Drive - A complaint was received
by a resident of Berkley Drive regarding a delayed ambulance response. The street layout of Berkley Drive is a
horseshoe south of Bradford Boulevard and then a cul-de-sac on the north side
of Bradford Boulevard. It is recommended
that the horseshoe section be renamed as XXX Circle or Loop as soon as possible. Mr. Calhoun moved, seconded by Mr. Rimer to
rename the horseshoe portion of Berkley Drive.
Motion passed unanimously.

10. OTHER BUSINESS/CORRESPONDANCE BEFORE THE
PSAB
A.
Fire Hydrant
application from McNaughtons. Brian
Cassel presented an application he received from the McNaughtons regarding fire
hydrant installation recommendations at their subdivision on Jonestown Road. Mr. Cassel must verify that installation of
hydrants is consistant with what is on plans.
B.
Mr. Cassel
reported on the hydrant markers. He said
that the project is 98% complete. The
markers are at the right height and are
waxed. A suggestion was made to apply
lock tight on the bolts.
C.
There was a
brief discussion regarding the recent fire at Wilco.
D.
There was a
discussion on the dangerous situation at the intersection of Route 39 and
Devonshire Heights Road. Mr. Calhoun
moved, seconded by Mr. Rimer to set up a meeting with PENNDOT regarding signage
at Devonshire Heights Road and Route 39.
Motion passed unanimously.
