PUBLIC SEWER
FOR WHITE BIRCH LANE
Mr.
Millard announced that the purpose for the workshop was to discuss with the
residents of White Birch Lane
whether or not they were interested in having their properties connected to
public sewer.
Mr.
Millard explained that Richard Yingst would be paving White Birch Lane in order to provide an
alternate entrance/exit to the Brookview development fronting on Sandy Hollow Road. He further explained that Mr. Yingst would be
willing to extend a sewer line from his Brookview development to serve the
properties on White Birch Lane,
if the residents and the Authority agreed to sewer White Birch Lane.
Mr.
Millard then invited the residents from White Birch Lane to comment on the
project.
Marilyn
Calderelli, 248 White Birch Lane. Ms. Calderelli stated that she was in favor
of public sewer being extended to her property.
She did, however, express concern as to the cost of connecting her
property to the sewer because she would have to connect at the front of her
home even though her present septic system was located in the rear. Following a brief discussion, Mr. Tyndale
offered to meet with Ms. Calderelli to determine what might be the most cost
effective way to connect her property.
Manthana
Williams, 264 White Birch Lane. Ms. Williams also asked if Mr. Tyndale would
look at her property as well. He agreed
to do so.
Robert
Hanshaw, 7404 Wells Drive. Mr. Hanshaw stated he was representing his
daughter who resides at 252 White
Birch Lane.
He stated that he and his daughter were in favor of connecting to public
sewer. He also stated that he believed
that the residents on White Birch
Lane should only pay the same amount as those who
connected on Sandy Hollow Road,
or $2,600. Mr. Millard explained that
grandfathering was no longer available for properties in West Hanover
Township and that the
residents would be required to pay the applicable tapping, connection, and
customer facilities charges in effect at the time of connection.
George
Cooper, 237 Piketown Road. Mr. Cooper spoke in favor of the public
sewer. He also stated that a grinder
pump would be required to serve his home and asked for an approximate cost of a
grinder pump. Mr. Tyndale indicated that
the Authority would provide a grinder pump for his property at no cost to him,
if it would be needed in order to provide first floor service.
Mr. Jones
moved, seconded by Mr. LaDieu, to proceed with providing public sewer to White Birch Lane. The motion was unanimously approved.
ADJOURNMENT
The workshop
was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
Respectfully
submitted,
