This engine was purchased by Mr. Harold Slepian. Soon after the arrival of the fire engine, Mr. Slepian took steps to organize a fire company to protect the lives and property of West Hanover residents. There were 18 charter members. Today the West Hanover Fire Company has grown into a large and busy volunteer organization with a distinguished record of achievement. Over the past 52 years, significant improvements in service to residents has been achieved due to the hard work of its members. West Hanover Township Fire Company #36 is today the only volunteer fire company in Dauphin County to operate three substations and three front line pumpers. Charter Members: |
